Acorns wanted to educate users on the core principles of investing and how to best leverage the app’s wealth of features. Our answer was a series of nine animated videos, ranging from 30 seconds to over two minutes, blending the brand’s signature hand puppet with original 2D design and animation, using the visual language of forests, paper airplanes, origami, and see-saws to make core investing concepts feel genuinely approachable.

Acorns Early

When it came time to animate the app feature that lets parents open investment accounts for their kids, we faced a distinct creative challenge. Its cartoonish aesthetic, warm purple palette, bold outlines, and friendly shape language lived in a different visual space than the rest of the brand. Our design team rose to it, crafting a look that felt native to the feature while staying coherent with the broader Acorns world.

Production

We were also tasked with helping to expand the versatility of the brand’s physical puppet mascot through a shoot in our studio where we captured a wide range of scenarios and performances. Through extensive visual effects work and the use of AI tools, we transformed this material into a flexible and scalable content library, part of which was then brought to life in this campaign.
