Lux Sonos VR

At this year’s AIGA Design Conference, we were thrilled to premiere Lux Sonos, a multi-user, generative music virtual reality experience. Designed with first-time VR users in mind, we kept the environment fantastical and serene, simplified user interactions, and made it a welcoming exploration of music, recursion, scale, and interconnectivity. By triggering golden pods on a virtual table before them, the VR user could activate audio loops to create their own musical soundscape and bring life to the environment.

Audience Participation

In what is normally a single player format, we designed an experience that could be shared between user and audience. By placing their hands through light-monitoring rings in the real world, audience members were able to alter visuals and sounds within the virtual world. This exchange created the sense that the VR user was not alone; rather, they were part of a joint collaboration of light and sound.

AIGA Design Conference

AIGA endeavors to “bring design to the world, and the world to designers”. It is the oldest and largest professional membership organization for design. Pixel Farm was honored to bring the emerging world of virtual reality to the AIGA Design Conference this year and look forward to future collaborations with this inspiring organization.
